The Spectra 81 Diamond

The Spectra 81.
More facets mean more brilliance.

Ordinary round diamonds have 57 facets. The Spectra 81 Diamond has 81 facets. These additional portals of light, carefully placed, allow for more sparkle... more dazzle... more life and fire.

Ordinary 57 Facet Diamond

Spectra 81 Diamond

The Spectra 81 Diamond is made exclusively for a small group of jewelers in the USA. Robbins Diamonds is pleased that we have been selected as the only jeweler to distribute this stunning new cut in the Tri-State Area.

More sparkle… more life… more fire.

The difference between the Spectra 81 Diamond and other diamonds with extra faceting is that the Spectra starts out as a standard 57 facet diamond. Then our diamond buyer painstakingly selects only those diamonds with excellent proportions for the transformation into a Spectra 81 Diamond.

Once the diamonds have been selected, they are sent to Netanya, Israel, “The City of Diamonds,” where Master Diamond Cutter Moses Hodara, developer of this cut, personally oversees the exacting process.

Moses Hodara always believed that conventional cutting just wasn’t capable of freeing the last of the fire that nature locked away in diamond crystals millions of years ago. So his life has been one long quest to find the secret key that would unlock that primordial fire. In developing the Spectra 81 Diamond, after years of trial and error, Hodara found the key. And with it, he transforms the ordinary diamond into the extraordinary!

The Spectra 81 Diamond has been specially designed and precisely cut to outshine ordinary round diamonds...with more sparkle... more life... more fire.

It doesn’t just sparkle – it sizzles!

The secret is in the facets – the tiny flat sides that handle the light and make a diamond shimmer and sparkle. The facets act as tiny windows and mirrors. White light enters through the top window facets and bounces off the bottomfacets to allow the brilliance and fire to be released through the top. These additional portals of light give the Spectra 81 Diamond more sizzle and more action.

Ordinary Princess Cut Diamond

Spectra Princess Cut Diamond

It’s like fireworks on her finger.

The Princess Cut Diamond was designed to make every woman feel like royalty. But we believe there’s always room for improvement. So we asked ourselves a question…is it possible to make her feel even more special?

To find out, we studied dozens of different diamond brands until we uncovered the cut that would maximize light refraction without reducing the diamond’s weight or increasing the cost.

Finally, after several years, the search is over. Introducing the Spectra Princess Diamond. It doesn’t just sparkle... it sizzles! The secret is in the facets.

Ordinary Princess Cut Diamonds have 49 to 70 facets. The Spectra Princess Diamond has 84 facets.

When you compare other diamonds with the Spectra Princess Diamond, you’ll see how these additional portals of light allow for more sparkle, more dazzle, more life and more fire.
  • “The Spectra Princess Diamond” has the additional advantage of chamfering the corners, instead of sharp points, which dramatically reduces the risk of chipping, a common mishap in the setting and wearing of traditional Princess Cuts.

  • Ordinary Princess Cut Diamonds require bulky, sharp prongs which can easily cause cuts and scratches in use. The Robbins Spectra Princess Diamond uses a normal, smooth 4-prong setting.
The corners are designed with a chamfered edge and an extra facet to secure the prong rather than a sharp point, so there is less chance of the diamond coming loose in the setting.
